Crunchyroll and Aniplex of America announced today that Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train will re-release theatrically in the United States and Canada starting May 14, with select international regions also releasing the movie starting the same day. The Mugen Train re-release will newly debut in 4K and be available both in Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub. In addition to the regular schedule, the film had its world's fastest screenings at 23 theaters in 10 prefectures from midnight on the first day of its release.The film series' official X (formerly Twitter) confirmed today that the film earned 1.05 billion yen (7.39 million USD) on 690,000 admissions on its opening day in Japan. The first-day gross was 109 percent of that of the previous 27th film last year, Case Closed: The Million-dollar Pentagram.
