One day before the start of the show in Tokyo, the Blue Miburo stage play adaptation, based on Tsuyoshi Yasuda’s historical manga, released a three-minute opening footage on Weekly Shonen Magazine’s official YouTube channel. The clip shows how the main cast members perform their characters and how the sword fight scenes are recreated on stage.

The stage play is set to perform at EX THEATER ROPPONGI in Tokyo from April 11 to 20, 2025, then at the Kyoto Theater in Kyoto from April 25 to 27, 2025. According to Ticket Pia, the tickets for the first four day in Tokyo (seven performances) have already been sold out.
Daisuke Nishida, known for his directorial works for the stage play adaptations of Sengoku BASARA (2009-2014), Blood Blockade Battlefront (2019-2021), and Hakuoki (2018-2021), serves as scriptwriter and director.

The Black Ships arrive in Kyoto as the shogunate stumbles toward ruin. Living amidst the chaos is Nio, a kindhearted boy on the verge of discovering his destiny. He meets two “Miburo,” Hijikata Toshizo and Okita Soji, members of the band of Mibu ronin who will later become the famous Shinsengumi. With dreams of a better world, Nio joins their fight to defend the city.
